Angus Stevens

Angus Stevens is an expert in virtual (VR) and augmented (AR) reality content creation. He is the CEO and co-founder of Start Beyond, an award-winning VR and AR studio that is transforming marketing, HR & training sector through the creation of immersive mixed reality experiences. His collaborative and pragmatic approach to content creation and intuitive spatial design gives Start Beyond its edge. Angus believes the more nuanced and authentic the story telling is - the deeper the learning will be. Start Beyond works with training organisations and departments within government and multinational companies, some of their clients include; St Johns Ambulance, ANSTO, Woolworths, Social Wise and University of Newcastle.

Angus began his career as a director and producer, directing theatre and student films at the University of Sydney as an undergraduate before heading overseas and working for Bob Geldof’s Planet 24 television production company.

Leveraging his 15 years’ experience across film, television and theatre, Angus transitioned into digital, setting up Southern Cross Austereo Southern digital video strategy during the formative years of YouTube, before establishing Nova Entertainment as one of Australia’s most popular entertainment sites. He has worked with leading Australian and international talent, including Hamish & Andy, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Harry Styles, Paul Kelly and Lilly Allen.

Angus is a proud husband and father of two teenagers, in his spare time he loves to play soccer and cricket. He is also an author; his debut novel Viewer Discretion Advised launched in August 2023.
